A Word About Membership

My Fellow Members and Friends
One thing has been on my mind for some time now. And I would like to take this opportunity to express my thoughts. Attendance at our meetings. It seems to me that at almost every meeting we see the same faces month, after month. Why is that? After all I thought we all had the same goal in mind. { at lest I would hope so } And that is to stand together  to protect our RIGHTS as motorcyclists. I know that some of you might feel that one person will not make a different. I know I use to, how wrong I was! Your present makes a huge different, it gives us all encouragement and strength. As our state motto says;UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL.
This new year will bring changes to all of us,and to our district as well. We have new and exciting events and, plans for this upcoming year. As well as state and federal government issues, that we will need your help in addressing. To protect our RIGHTS.
So let me take this opportunity to encourage all our members, not only district 11, but throughout the state. To be more proactive in each and every meeting, and event this year. Encourage other members to do the same, present your ideals and, opinions, and your support. Renew your commitment, your membership, and do your part to help recruit new members. In closing let me add this thought; you may be only one person, but as a group, we are a powerful force.

                                                        Thank You

State Party on the Lake

Here is a testimonial from last year's party. Be sure to make plans and come on out. This was one of the most laid back events we have ever hosted and a great time was had by all.

The word that best describes our weekend - AWESOME! Let me tell you how great the park director, Eddie Moore and his staff were to us. Not only did they staff the sign-in booth and have the tent, tables, and chairs set up, Mr. Moore himself brought coolers and ice so that we could ice down lots of refreshing beverages. Ken was tempted to pose in the buff when he was told that past the sign in booth, we could do whatever we wanted. I chose the spot right next to the showers/restroom/laundry. Being a wet weekend, it was so nice to be able to throw things in the dryer. Every spot had a picnic table and garbage bag and Col. Bob & Randy even got a spot with a deck! Saturday, Automatic led us on the poker run around the lake. We stopped at Alligator Inn and our friend Glen and his wife had lunch ready for us. Ask Jamie Sue about her dip in the pool. When we got back, food was already being served and prepared by a private chef provided by the park. And then the band 'High Tide' - WOW! They were most impressive. They played all our favorites and played them extremely well. There was a lot of laughing, a little Texas hold-em, and lots of dancing. Sunday morning, they provided us with breakfast at the lodge and treated us like royalty, from the best seats with the best view to exceptional service. From our district, I can remember Ken, Kim, Justin, Col. Bob, Randy, Rebel Jack, me and Dave. If I forgot anyone from our district, sorry, it's that fuzzy line between districts. I know I giggled a lot. Sorry you missed it and hope we do it again next year.

Dist. 11 News

June 2009

Well Folks, How’s the riding ?Bet your dodging raindrops. The freedom ride to Frankfort , we dodged ‘em, but it was a great ride. On May 23rd we had our ride for the Gallatin Co. athletic boosters, the first stop was at Ricks Tavern who put out a great spread of hot dogs and sauerkraut, then on to Falmouth, back to Ky Pub, then back to the Boat Dock, where they had a hog roast along with about 40 lbs. of beef ribs and all the trimmings. I have to say, John Orthoff went all out in getting all the stuff for the silent auction, plus door prizes for almost everyone. I would like to welcome our newest business member The Truck Stop at exit 62 The Yum Yum shop they have a great menu, also reasonable gas prices.

March 2009

Hello fellow Freedom Fighters,
Well it`s March and we`ve dodged the bullet so far, but the legislative session is not over till it`s over. Please call your legislators and ask them to support HCR 168 which would help Ky. preserve our 10th Amendment rights, and maybe keep the Fed`s from Mandating the state  passing laws we don`t need.[seat belts, helmets, etc.] Keep a watchful eye out for just a little longer. Just a reminder, Dist. 11`s meeting is Mar. 7th. 1pm. at the Boat Dock. Ah, snow is on the ground but Spring is in the air, so that next pretty day, you decide to get your bike out, DON`T FORGET to check your tire pressure, belts, chains, belts, lights, etc. Ride safe, Dave
